Clearance Studies

In rough seas helicopters can move significantly around the deck and in a hangar, particularly whilst unrestrained or in short term lashings.

Simulation mitigates the risk of structural interference and enables operators and ship builders to optimize hangar space and multiple helicopter separation. It also helps define maintenance procedures.

Multiple contact points on the helicopter and ship structure may be defined for clearance studies within the Ondeck code. The likely separation between multiple helicopters may also be ascertained through post processing time history data from multiple simulations.
