Helicopter - Ship Dynamic Interface Simulation
Since 1988 AVT has specialised in the analysis of the dynamic response of helicopters on ships.
AV^T has conducted the following tasks:
- Ship Limit Analysis for unrestrained and restrained helicopters to maximise operational capability
- Clearance studies (during landing and whilst on deck)
- Landing loads and dynamic response analysis
- Lashing scheme optimisation to ensure uniform load sharing for a wide range of conditions
- Simulated fatigue analysis to assess service life
- Develop a new helicopter aid for maritime operations
- Ship motion analysis in various sea states using ShipmoPC
Contract services
Since 1998 AVT has provided some 30 skilled personnel to the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) in the areas of:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Human Factors
Hammerhead VTOL UAV Development
Since 2003 AVT has been conducting research towards the development of a unique VTOL UAV and has gained considerable insight into the attributes of the system.
